Graduation Ceremony 2015 

         On the 23rd of October, graduation ceremony 2015 was held for Form 5 and Upper 6 students as a celebration  for their excellent achievement as well as an end for their middle school days in Chung Ling Butterworth. According to the tradition every year, Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra will be performing for the ceremony and this is also the last performance for our form 5 and upper 6 seniors. We performed Mayday Medley for the ceremony , consist of 倔强, 知足, 温柔, 恋爱ing in the medley. 

            23rd of October is a day to reflect on the success of all the seniors, persevering through one of the most challenging experiences of their lives. I bet all the seniors will be feeling a great range of emotions,relief that you've made it , pride in your abilities and perhaps also a sense of excitement, trepidation and expectation as you think ahead to the next leg of your journey and what adventures and opportunities that will bring. I'm here, sincerely wishing good luck to seniors for their future.

          Since the day we join Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra, we've been taught by the seniors and we've been band mates together since then. Somehow i'm sure all the juniors will be cherishing all the moments of joy we've been sharing together with seniors , securing it as a part of memories that will not be forgotten easily. Thanks for your kindness and forgiveness, we definitely appreciated that. 

    

       After this day it means separation, we are surely unwilling about it, but we've created special bonds between band mates and all of us will be remembering and treasuring it. Hope you guys found your passion in doing something and be successful. All the Best! ONE BAND ONE SOUND! 

 

     

Opening Ceremony for School Hall 

     


           On the 19th of September, Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra was given the honor to perform at the opening ceremony of our new school hall also known as  “骆文秀教育楼”. The event started at approximately 8am in the morning.

        We welcomed our guests with the song of Raiders March, the soundtrack to Raiders of the Lost Ark which is also known as "Indiana Jones Theme". We performed Fairytale and Awakening Hills conducted by our music director, Maestro Woon Wen Kin on this joyful day. It was a day worth the celebration. The event ended with our band performing Final Countdown as a wrap up. 

        It was a sucess for the opening ceremony for Chung Ling Butterworth School Hall! 

   

Merdeka Parade 2015 

             Malaysia celebrates its 58th Independence Day with the theme of 'Sehati, Sejiwa' (One Heart, One Soul) on 31 August 2015 at the mainland of Penang, Seberang Perai. The celebration was graced by His Excellency, TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama (Dr.) Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas, Governor of Penang and the Right Honorable Y.A.B Tuan Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister of Penang. We, the Wind Orchestra of Chung Ling Butterworth had participated in this annual celebration. Final Countdown and Seni Teras Perpaduan were performed for the marching band competition. The venue of the Penang State-level Merdeka Parade 2015 was at Jalan Perda Utama, Bandar Perda, Seberang Perai.

   

         After waiting for around 2 hours, the event had finally started. Everyone was full of spirit, wanting to earn a good achievement after few weeks of drudgery training. Every member who participated in this Merdeka Parade were persistent to do their best so that the weeks of training for the parade were not wasted.  During the parade, the determined hearts had made each and every one of us to be more energized. Shoutout to all the seniors who supported us there when we needed them, a very big thank you to our drum major, who worked very hard to train us, in hope for our great performance. Thanks to our teachers for encouraging us. 

         After weeks of waiting, the hair raising moment had finally arrived. Congratulations to St. Xavier's Institution Marching Band and Jit Sin High School for getting champion and 1st runner up. We were informed that we got 2ND RUNNER UP for the competition. Our hard work had finally paid off ! This was not the best performance we did but we will be working harder to improve our level of performance.

 Sultan Idris Education University National Wind Orchestra Festival

WE MADE IT!! Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra was honored with GOLD and BEST PERCUSSION AWARD together with the prize of being the second highest scorer in division 1. The euphoric feeling we shared together during the moment was hard to describe with words. We were all overwhelmed with happiness as all of our hard work were paid off. Special thanks to Kenny! You've been a great help to us and never failed in assisting our band to be a better band throughout the time you spent on us and thank you teachers for treating us lunch hehe!

When the announcement made by emcee went by "SMJK Chung Ling Butterworth..... Anugerah... Pingat..." was seriously nerve-wrecking! But when it's GOLD , we're all so enthusiastic over the results. We cheered for our achievement and when the emcee announced the best percussion award goes to SMJK Chung Ling Butterworth, that's totally out of our expectation but still we were very thrilled over these unexpected results. Good Job Percussionists!

Everyone had been working hard for this competition and so finally all the hard work paid off.

Music Rendezvous 《时.音旅》

        Music Rendezvous, Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra 10th annual concert which held in Dewan Sri Pinang on 4th of July had finally came to the end! 
       
       We would like to express our gratitude towards those who attended our concert. Your support and presence at the venue is greatly appreciated! Besides,no words can describe well how grateful we are towards our music director, Maestro Woon Wen Kin and our tutor, Kenny. They had done a very great job in helping our band to improve more in every aspect. We will remember all those advice and encouragement given. We will work hard to be a better band in the future!

       It's the last concert performing together with the Form 5 and Form 6 seniors, that night was filled with laughter and tears , it'll definitely be a sweet memory for all of us to engrave in our mind. Its great to see all of you there. Once again, thanks for your support and applause ! Music Rendezvous 《时.音旅》

          Sound the trumpets! The time has come! We, the Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra will be having our 10^th annual concert, entitled “Music Rendezvous” 《时.音旅》on the 4^th of July 2015 at Dewan Sri Pinang, Penang. Doors open at 7.30 in the evening. Tickets are sold RM15, valid for only one person.

          We have put in all our might and effort in triumphing and prospering the band. The members have gone through blood, sweat and tears to make this concert successful. 2015 National Music Arts Festival - Gold With Honour

National musical arts competition was held in Dewan Sri Pinang on 2nd of June 2015. CLBWO was given the honour to participate in the competition. CLBWO performed Overture Jubiloso and Yorkshire Ballad during the national musical arts competition and awarded with Gold with Honour!

Thousand of appreciation and thankful to all the supports and encouragements given. On top of that, thousand of applause given to Maestro Woon Wen Kin, our conductor who carried out his job meticulously and dedicatedly. We would glad to give appreciation towards our tutor - Kenny. He put all his effort in improving our quality of sound, articulation and more. Advice given had made us to improve by leaps and bounds and he was there for us through the hardship we faced. Comments gave by the judges were useful in helping us towards better and soothes the hard work we paid. Appreciation and thankfulness cannot be expressed with words. It is not our end, we will work more harder, improve in every aspect and never stop to dream big until we successfully become a top-notch band. All of us will be full of beans in creating more outstanding results in the future! Hope readers out there can support us by attending our 10th concert held in Dewan Sri Pinang on 4th July, we can assure you there will be a better version of us. Thank you!

Graduate Exhibition from The One College Graduates.

25th April 2015.

Firstly we would like to thanks to The One College Graduates for giving us the chance to perform during your exhibition. It's a great night. Seriously, you guys are awesome. You make the place become so nice and everything become memorable. Of course, yours work are pretty and wonderful haha. Lastly hope you guys have the brightest future with your works. Thanks again for giving us attend to your exhibition. Happy Graduate :)

15th March 15, we were invited to perform in a new hall at Seberang Jaya.
Early in the morning, we reached there and rehearsal for once.
It's a great experience for us as it's was a grand event. Many Y.B came to the event and listen to us too. ☺
We had play three songs included two chinese new year songs (贺新年，大地回春) and YMCA.

Hundreds thanks to the audience that day that given us support and thanks to the organizers too for gave us the chance and provide us breakfast and lunch.

Orientation Day

30th December 2014 was the Orientation Day for the Form One's student. We have performed two songs to the students and also a mini concert at the corridor. The event went on smoothly and successfully. Students went into the band room and also tried playing some instruments. The aim of this Orientation Day is to promote our band and let all of you know more about our band. We hope that there will be more new members joining CLBWO in this 2015 year. Thank you very much! :)

2014 Wind Orchestra Music Festival

We have performed in the 2014 Wind Orchestra Music Festival, which was held in Dewan Sri Pinang and on 28th December 2014. We were glad to have this opportunity and chance to perform in this festival. We have gained more experiences through this festival. We will also keep on practise and make our performances better. Thanks for those who came and supported us on that day. Also, thanks for giving us applause on that day too. Thanks for all the encouragement, support and applause you have given. Hope all of you can keep on supporting us in the future. Thank you! :)
