Graduation Ceremony 2015 

         On the 23rd of October, graduation ceremony 2015 was held for Form 5 and Upper 6 students as a celebration  for their excellent achievement as well as an end for their middle school days in Chung Ling Butterworth. According to the tradition every year, Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra will be performing for the ceremony and this is also the last performance for our form 5 and upper 6 seniors. We performed Mayday Medley for the ceremony , consist of 倔强, 知足, 温柔, 恋爱ing in the medley. 

            23rd of October is a day to reflect on the success of all the seniors, persevering through one of the most challenging experiences of their lives. I bet all the seniors will be feeling a great range of emotions,relief that you've made it , pride in your abilities and perhaps also a sense of excitement, trepidation and expectation as you think ahead to the next leg of your journey and what adventures and opportunities that will bring. I'm here, sincerely wishing good luck to seniors for their future.

          Since the day we join Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra, we've been taught by the seniors and we've been band mates together since then. Somehow i'm sure all the juniors will be cherishing all the moments of joy we've been sharing together with seniors , securing it as a part of memories that will not be forgotten easily. Thanks for your kindness and forgiveness, we definitely appreciated that. 

    

       After this day it means separation, we are surely unwilling about it, but we've created special bonds between band mates and all of us will be remembering and treasuring it. Hope you guys found your passion in doing something and be successful. All the Best! ONE BAND ONE SOUND! 

 

     

Opening Ceremony for School Hall 

     


           On the 19th of September, Chung Ling Butterworth Wind Orchestra was given the honor to perform at the opening ceremony of our new school hall also known as  “骆文秀教育楼”. The event started at approximately 8am in the morning.

        We welcomed our guests with the song of Raiders March, the soundtrack to Raiders of the Lost Ark which is also known as "Indiana Jones Theme". We performed Fairytale and Awakening Hills conducted by our music director, Maestro Woon Wen Kin on this joyful day. It was a day worth the celebration. The event ended with our band performing Final Countdown as a wrap up. 

        It was a sucess for the opening ceremony for Chung Ling Butterworth School Hall! 

   

Merdeka Parade 2015 

             Malaysia celebrates its 58th Independence Day with the theme of 'Sehati, Sejiwa' (One Heart, One Soul) on 31 August 2015 at the mainland of Penang, Seberang Perai. The celebration was graced by His Excellency, TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama (Dr.) Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas, Governor of Penang and the Right Honorable Y.A.B Tuan Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister of Penang. We, the Wind Orchestra of Chung Ling Butterworth had participated in this annual celebration. Final Countdown and Seni Teras Perpaduan were performed for the marching band competition. The venue of the Penang State-level Merdeka Parade 2015 was at Jalan Perda Utama, Bandar Perda, Seberang Perai.

   

         After waiting for around 2 hours, the event had finally started. Everyone was full of spirit, wanting to earn a good achievement after few weeks of drudgery training. Every member who participated in this Merdeka Parade were persistent to do their best so that the weeks of training for the parade were not wasted.  During the parade, the determined hearts had made each and every one of us to be more energized. Shoutout to all the seniors who supported us there when we needed them, a very big thank you to our drum major, who worked very hard to train us, in hope for our great performance. Thanks to our teachers for encouraging us. 

         After weeks of waiting, the hair raising moment had finally arrived. Congratulations to St. Xavier's Institution Marching Band and Jit Sin High School for getting champion and 1st runner up. We were informed that we got 2ND RUNNER UP for the competition. Our hard work had finally paid off ! This was not the best performance we did but we will be working harder to improve our level of performance.
