This is it. One more day. One more day till CLBWO’s event of the year —— Together We Are One concert.
It
is going to be so much fun! Just imagine, 17 performances! When the
clock strikes eight at night, the lights will dim. The dashing emcees
will kindly remind you to switch off your handphone, and every fibre in
your body will start to tingle with anticipation. You look around,
amazed by the full-house that turned out. You see proud parents,
familiar teachers and friends, buzzing with excitement for the shows yet
to start. You might wonder, is tonight going to be worth my money?
Well, as an ancient (but still observant) senior, I daresay YES.
For
starters, Overture Jubiloso will sweep you off your feet (or ears).
CLHSWO didn’t get the 2013 Century Arts Festival GOLD AWARD with that
piece for nothing, you know. It was earned through sweat and
determination (and lots of spit). So sit back, relax, and hear them
ROAR.
Next up, Yorkshire Ballad will take you back in time… when
ladies wore full skirts and danced gracefully with gentlemen in
breeches. Ain’t that romantic? But when CLBWO enters Danse Bacchanale,
that will be an entirely different dance. A dance between Samson and
Delilah, of the biblical tale. Listen carefully as our music tells a
story of love and betrayal. Suspenseful, huh? (:
After these two
big appetizers, why not we savour a few small delicacies? One by one,
the section ensembles shall come out and perform, such as brass,
saxophone and percussion. I hope you have been listening to the radio
lately, because we shall be performing popular songs of 2014! Be ready
to be amazed by the Chung Ling version of your favourite tunes. (:
After much anticipation……the main dish will be served, to your delight, of course!
CLHSWO
and CLBWO shall combine, because “Two is Better Than One”, just like
Taylor Swift sang. We present to you three grand pieces and we pay
tribute to the “Music of the Night” by performing the “Phantom of the
Opera” as our grand finale.
And then it’s the audience’s turn to
make some noise. (: Please clap until your hands fall off or something
because you finally know, your money was worth it and you’re already
marking the calendar for next year’s concert. (Yes, I can predict the
future. I told you I was ancient right? :D )
As nervous as we
are, we still can’t wait to see all our lovely audience, dressed in
their best, ready to surrender themselves to music heaven. PLEASE COME,
DON’T BE SHY!
WE HOPE TO SEE YOUR SEXY FACES TOMORROW AT DEWAN SRI PINANG, 8PM! WE LOVE YOU GUYS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
HINT: Encore is pronounced as ON-KOR, okay?
